U.S. Tightens Immigration Policy: Priorities — Deportation of Violators and Southern Border Security

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 May, U.S. immigration authorities released updated information regarding current immigration policies and border security measures.

According to the data presented, the key priorities of U.S. immigration policy remain strict enforcement against illegal border crossings and unlawful presence in the country, as well as decisive actions against foreign nationals who have committed crimes on American soil.

In the area of border control, emphasis is placed on strengthening the southern border: under the directive of President Donald Trump, the U.S. Armed Forces provide support to the Department of Homeland Security in fully securing this zone. Additionally, special zones under military jurisdiction, called National Defense Areas, have been established — unauthorized entry into these zones will be treated as a serious violation and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Individuals who entered the U.S. legally but violated immigration terms or other legal provisions may face arrest, fines, visa revocation, and subsequent deportation. Moreover, such violations may result in a lifetime ban on re-entry.

For those residing illegally in the U.S., a Voluntary Departure Program is in place, encouraging immediate departure from the country. Authorities offer financial incentives for voluntary return to the home country, accessible via the CBP Home App mobile application.

At the same time, the U.S. emphasizes openness to lawful travelers. Legal presence is welcomed; however, any violation of visa conditions, terms of stay, or local laws leads to automatic visa cancellation and deportation.

The U.S. government has also intensified its fight against facilitators of illegal migration. Visa restrictions have been imposed on officials and private individuals involved in aiding unlawful stays. Several criminal groups engaged in human smuggling have been designated as terrorist organizations. Furthermore, countries refusing to accept their deported nationals risk facing visa privilege restrictions for their citizens.

In this context, the U.S. side urges foreign governments to timely inform their citizens of current regulations to prevent cases of detention, deportation, or criminal prosecution on U.S. territory.
