Uzbekistan Launches US$5 Million Venture Fund Imkon Ventures to Back Early-Stage Tech Startups

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new early-stage venture capital fund, Imkon Ventures, has been launched in Uzbekistan with an initial capital of US$5 million. The fund is designed to support pre-seed and seed-stage technology startups in Uzbekistan and across Central Asia.

The primary goal of the initiative is to integrate local tech teams into the global innovation ecosystem and create a strategic link between Central Asia and the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa).

Over the next two years, Imkon Ventures aims to invest in 25–30 startups, with individual investments ranging from US$50,000 to US$150,000 per company. High-potential startups will also be eligible for follow-on funding in future investment rounds.

The fund is expected to create more than 1,000 skilled jobs by 2030 and play a significant role in developing Uzbekistan’s digital infrastructure and human capital.

The anchor investor in Imkon Ventures is UzVC, the country’s state-backed fund of funds. This involvement signals the strategic importance of the initiative and strengthens international confidence in Uzbekistan’s growing startup landscape. The official launch was announced during the Asian Development Bank’s SME conference in Tashkent.

“Uzbekistan’s growth and potential are finally gaining global recognition. I truly believe now is the best time to invest in our young and ambitious nation. Imkon Ventures will serve as a bridge between MENA and Central Asia,” said Tohir Mirzadjanov.

“Uzbek entrepreneurs are ready to go global. Through Startup Garage, I’ve seen world-class ideas take shape here. Now is the perfect moment to help them scale,” added Muhammad Khalil.

Imkon Ventures is not only providing capital — it also delivers strategic support, helping startups connect with international partners and markets across Uzbekistan, Central Asia, and the MENA region.
